Shirtless man removed from Cal Anderson basketball hoop. He may be arrested for property destruction, or at least goal-tending. Seattleites may still be distraught over losing their beloved SuperSonics to Oklahoma City seven years ago, but this is ridiculous.
A man with a hammer but not much of a plan got stuck in a basketball hoop at a Seattle park on May Day occasionally dangling from his foot.
A fire ladder truck and two firefighters were needed to cut him loose from the net. Police said Monday he won't be charged. The weird incident not only yielded a gold-plated video.
Once the man was restrained, an officer climbed a ladder that was placed against the backboard and unhooked the man's leg.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday, which was May Day, when rallies were held in Seattle and other cities for causes that include workers' rights. It's not clear whether this man was protesting anything maybe the NBA's abandonment of Seattle? In any case, it's good to see that the Seattle Police Department had a good sense of humor about the whole matter.
